S.N. Safe&Software gets investments from Troika Dialog Venture Fund!

S.N. Safe&Software and Troika Dialog announce the finalization of a venture deal in which the Russian startup S.N. Safe&Software will receive several million dollars of financing from a venture fund managed by Troika Dialog Asset Management. S.N. Safe&Software will use the invested funds to develop its product line and build sales networks in Russia and abroad.

Russia's S.N. Safe&Software creates advanced software products in the sphere of information security. Mikhail Kalinichenko, the company's founder, previously became established on Russia's information security market as Director of Technologies at the Kaspersky Laboratory.

"We offer the market unique technology to control and protect information in an aggressive information atmosphere. We rightfully consider ourselves one of the most promising companies in our sector. While we received offers from several investors, we decided upon Troika Dialog because we not only seek financing from our investor, but participation in the company's development. For one, Troika Dialog has for years been known in financial circles as the leading investment banking group. Furthermore, its venture capital unit has earned a strong reputation as one of the most professional teams, having extensive international experience and expertise in the information technologies sphere. The new financing will allow our company to implement its targeted strategy of active expansion on the information security services market," said Mikhail Kalinichenko, General Director at S.N. Safe&Software.

According to Mr. Yukhin, the information security industry is booming: along with developments in computing and computer networks, new types of threats are appearing which require new approaches. Until recently, the so-called "signatures," the classic anti-viruses, were the all the rage in technology. Now, however, in addition to threats in the form of spontaneously developing viruses, additional threats include targeted attacks on companies and the unsanctioned actions of company employees who can access the system. "Behavioral algorithms are the latest trend in the industry. This technology analyzes non-standard behavior in the system and identifies the virus or the perpetrator without a previous 'vaccine.' SnS technology has already received recognition on the international market, taking top spots in independent ratings and trials conducted with similar technologies. Taken together, these factors make us confident that within 3-4 years the company will overtake a big share of information security markets in Russia and abroad."

The sides agreed upon a flexible framework, according to which the project will receive financing in several stages, each contingent upon the company's completion of a stated task.
