Safe`n`Sec solutions block Trojan ZeuS 1.4.S.N. Safe&Software, Russian company-developer of software IT security solutions, informs that Safe`n`Sec products block an old (1.3.5) and a new versions (1.4) of ZeuS Trojan-Spy.Win32.Zbot.
Recently a new version of cybercrime application ZeuS/Zbot is appeared in the Internet. As of April 21, Zeus 1.4 has infected every 1 in 3000 computers monitored in North America and the United Kingdom, and Symantec's latest Internet Security Threat Report showed that nearly 90,000 unique variants of the Zeus toolkit were observed in 2009. Zeus is specifically designed to steal login credentials to online banking sites and similar secure web sites.
Zeus 1.4 is a completely new version and uses polymorphic techniques to evade detection. Previous versions were not capable of exploiting Firefox, pointed out the company which is headquartered in the United States and Israel. However, the new Zeus now supports HTML injection and transactional tampering to bypass strong authentication and transaction signing technology.
